been a really good friggin day for me. finally got my car back together, and everything is fine. ive been struggling with this thing for a month or so now, all the little bugs are keeping it off the road. i have been driving the hell out of it, all day, and ive been having fun.

a group of hotrodders come off the interstate, look like they were kind of lost. so i turned around, to see if they needed help. they were looking even more lost. i pull up to one of the guys, and ask if he needs help. the dude tells me, " no, we are fine, MOVE" in some pissy *** 'tude. really kinda screwed up my afternoon. they had some real nice cars, i would have liked to have looked at them. probably on the way to b'ville. ever since i got this car on the road, i usually get the impression that most hot rodders think my car is **** or something. **** it, i love driving it. but damn, sometimes i just want to look and talk, swap stories and ****.

so sorry about the rant. had to get if off my chest, and my wife doesnt "get" things like this. so if you were driving through cheyenne, wy, and saw this car, what the hell man?

im going to log more miles.

Dont sweat it. Your car looks cool and they were just trying to find an antelope to "help" over a fence.

    Trey,
Nice car! It looks like you've put a lot of effort into it. Enjoy it! Don't let some unknown, unfriendly "person" spoil your enjoyment of your car. People need to learn to appreciate the effort put into a hot rod and not the buck$ put into the "pretty". Not all of us can afford the "pretty", YET. All hot rods are a work in progress and yours looks great.
Your body looks like an original sedan delivery, is it? I like the nailhead and the wide 5 brakes and rims on the front. Good choices. Nice work.

yeah i wouldnt sweat it man, ive ben watching your car come along and id have to say im damnd impressed with it and when i eventualy end up running into you-- it is a small world- youll be sure to have some one talking your ear off about it.

but i do understand what your saying/feeling it usaly puts a preety big dent in my day when i run into car guys that are *****s. i guess im spoiled by the hamb being a generaly good bunch of guys so when i run into some one whos a *** hole it realy bugs me.

oh well ****em, when there broke on the side of the road and ive got the tools and know how to fix what they broke maybe theyll be a little nicer

Must have been Boyd Coddington or people who own wallet rides like that.

    More like through a fence.

Who knows, maybe they where doing some lame-o video shoot for San Marino High Dollar Hot Rods or something. "Out in the middle of nowhere, we were the only hotrodders around for 500 miles" Then you drive up a ruin it for the lost boys.

So..what kind of rods were they drivin'? Street rods? I wouldn't let it bother you.
I've dealt with a few of them myself. Went up to this old guy at a cruise. He was drivin' a cool custom 59 impala convert. So I tell him "nice 59, I 've got one at home" and I don't get a 'thanks man' or anything..jeez, I was just trying to strike up a conversation with another car guy. Musta been moody cause he prolly had a scratch in his $5,000 paint job or something. Anyway don't let it get to ya and I'm really diggin' your hot rod BTW. Looks good.

Nothin wrong with your car bro. They were probably just haveing a bad day. Well that and some of them guys are what my O'l Man called VIPs, "Very Ignorant Pigs".

How hard is it to be nice to everyone you meet? IMHO I put a lot of high dollar rodders in the same catagory as a lot of Vette owners. *****S, If they are not *****s it`s up to them to prove me wrong. I like your ride and mine is not high dollar either. No billet ,little chrome ,nothing from any rod shop, all labor by me.All parts are well used, couldn`t afford new anyway. I met Squablow this weekend, great guy,I suspect most HAMBERS are like him and I. Thanks for listening. Jerry :D

As my little bro says, "sometime you just gotta give them a big **** YOU!"

Cool car man. No sense in someone being a ****.

Most car guys are pretty cool, but some are just...well, you know.

Same here, I'd chase you down to look and ask you about your car. I think it's the ****, man!

BTW, remember, guys don't like to ask for directions.....

I would have moved all rite, while commencing to throw gravel all over their shiny rides, while about 180 degress through the doughnut shooting them the finger. Your ride rocks and dont sweat the jerks. They were definalty not from the hamb.

They were probably former 'vette owners that traded them in on street rods when American Hot Rod went on the air.

    Cool *** car btw.

I, like you, enjoy helping others. When my offers of ***istance are recieved the way yours were, I enjoy being the outcast. You might embrace being the outlaw and they can embrace your foot in their ***.

thanks guys. im not really bothered by it, just thought id throw it out there. i drove some more, changed my oil, and cleaned the garage. its fun stuff.

the cars were nice. traditional hot rods. couple 32's, a sedan, nice cars. the two 32's look like they belong on the salt. they were amazing looking. if i would have had a camera, i woulda taken a picture. heavy chop on the 32's. and a roadster. real nice cars. anyway.

that's kinda dishearteneing to think that the guys with some of the most respected hot rods in the hobby blew you off like a couple of jerks. I hope there was a good reason. Had you showered recently! If I had one of those cars I would be finding people to to talk to about it.

  29. They were ***holes to a couple HAMBers on the salt a couple years ago as well.

    **** THAT.

Don't make excuses for these jerks. If they blew you off, then its not right.

I think I can see whats going on here. Its this "holier than thou" at***ude that has ***erted itself in this so called "traditional" movement.

My car is more traditional than yours, so **** off.
Too bad too. That at***ude ****S. Dumb ****s with that at***ude are alienating themselves from the so called "gold chainers" AND from other "traditional (low buck) rodders".

Its really a shame. I have very little respect for people like that.
Hell, even if a kid in a honda wants to talk to me, I LISTEN AND RESPOND. There is no reason to be rude.

I guess this group of ***holes is just too cool for school.
I'm interested to hear their side of the story.
