You're right. It's standard equipment. For some people the thought that it has to end some time is the only cheerful thought life has to offer. I'm not kidding.

If one of us on this site was a hard-core enthusiast and made our living building traditional rods, and some employee's drug-addled kid broke into our shop, pushed a non-runner out of the way and stole the keys to a fresh-built, period-correct, perfect g***er that belonged to a customer, and ran it into a tree, a phone pole and a concrete wall at 150mph, it'd be all over this board, and after 10 days and thousand posts, we'd have all the facts... and the whole story would have gone viral on every car site there is along the way.

The only thing the article did was consolidated a million fragmented posts into one coherent presentation.

This may be offending or hurtful to some of the guys here, but screw the car. Glad the kid lived. Maybe this will serve to get him help or as eye opener for him.
I say this as the parent of a child who committed suicide.

Very strange situation. If he just wanted to kill himself there are easier ways to do it than to get the keys and alarm code to the shop, push another car out of the way, then drive away in this car. They only think he was trying to kill himself when in fact he may have just been going for a joy ride that went bad.

I don't think I have ever seen a car that mangled. Looks like they had to use the jaws of life on the roof area, but that front end is horrible. Amazing he survived it at all. If anything causes the end of civilization it will be damned drugs.

...in fact, in thinking about it, if this had happened at Tardel's shop, or the Austin Speed Shop, or Kiwi Kev's shop, I'd be very surprised to not see a similar article on the front page of this site.
Mosher is an icon in the Mopar world, just like Tardel is here and Bobby Alloway is to street rodders.

It was "believed" as a suicide attempt.

To me just looks like some jack*** who stole a car and took it for a joy ride.

    Wonder if he'll get punished..

Yep, I have zero sympathy for clowns like that guy.

He's lucky he didnt steal mine or I'd be paying him a visit when he leaves the hospital.

Let some meth addicted dirtbag do something similar to your car and then see if you feel the same way.

I wonder what the chances are that the throttle got stuck? And in the panic the young thief didn't think of turing off the igniton in time? Gary

  13. Now I think we've reached the point of sensationalism.

As a former insurance adjuster I've seen my fair share of fatal car wrecks and this one is right up there. How would you people feel if it was a car owned or driven by a friend or family member? Would you want it plastered all over the net?!?!

Some people are just cold and heartless!

I say close and delete this ****in' thread!

My guess is some Mopar fanatic paid an extraordinarily insane amount of money for it.

^^Inclined to agree. As far as cold and heartless, no, just unthinking and reactionary.
