I have a 1956 Pontiac wagon I need to get to work on. This is my first old Pontiac. Where's a good place to get miscellaneous parts? Interior trim pieces, engine parts, brake parts, etc... I've noticed already that these are more difficult to find parts for than an old Chevy! Thanks for any tips. Mac
Ames Performance Engineering is a great place for Pontiac specific bits. A lot of CHevy stuff translates, so Danchuk is a good source too. Kanter will have most of the mechanical pieces you need. Some of the stuff is harder to find and costs a bit more, you just have to keep looking and be persistant.
California Pontiac Restorations in sacramento? , great to deal with all the bits and pieces are available. pricing is pretty close to chev bits from chevs of the 40s. Ive spent a fair bit through them for my 51 and Im on the other side of the world in Oz freight is even reasonable
We have a 2 dr 56 chieftan wagon. I got a lot from Ecklers they do chevy stuff and much of it translates. Other things are near impossible to get original replacements and you just have to wait till it shows up on eBay. What are you looking to get?
If you want used I know of a complete one that can be parted out. Tinworms have devoured the lower sheetmetal
I have some parts floating around and I know some other guys with similar cars always updating pieces when they come across newer better versions of those parts, so shoot me a PM with what you need over time and I will see what I can find.
