Had my 40 Banjo rebuilt a year ago and just got it drivable. Anyone know the torgue setting for the Axle nuts after you re-install the drums. I forgot and I rember you are supposed to drive it a few miles and re-touque them.

you'll get varying answers on this, as the Ford manuals apparently were cagey on the issue, or the value changed over the years..
Have a very close look at the threads..often you will find they have a sawtooth shape like this../|/|/|/| rather than like this \/\/\/\/which can indicate being overtorqued, and Id be very careful going to a high value if the threads are deformed..whatever the case..fit some drum retaining brackets, good insurance.
On good threads, I would use 150-175 Ft Lbs.

As important as the torque setting is lapping the hubs to the axle taper. Must be done before the keys are installed. Been covered in previous posts.

Thanks, I thought I remembered 180 ft lb but thought it was crazy high, my threads are good.

Its all together just needs to be re-torqued.
