Block Huggers???

Well I was out playing with the hot rod today, I got the steering all figured out. I can clear the steering shaft, if I angle cut the driver side pipe. I head over the the local exhaust shop and have them bend me a few tubes and a bell flange to fit my center dump rams head manifolds. While I'm there I picked up new studs for them. Well dumb *** me did not chase the threads and while running the new stud in I ended up breaking the damn thing. I can wait till the next swap meet and get another one.

However I have a real nice set of ceramic coated block huggers. These will make the steering clearance a breeze, they probally will breath better. I however just cant convince myself they are traditional. I don't mind how they look. What you all think? Get another one, or run the block huggers? This will be in an open engine bay, without hood sides. Keith

 

Is this on a Fenderless 41 Chevy Truck? If so, it's not really all that "Traditional" anyway, so paint them Black and run them.
Not a knock on the truck, just saying it's not worth getting that **** about

 

Yea it's for my 41. I know that's not a traditional ride, but I'm a farm boy, and a Chevy guy and farm boys drive trucks. I'll use the broken one as a mock up and grab a good one at the next swap meet. I just can't can't get past the looks of those headers. Keith

 

I completely agree that it's not worth getting **** about, run the huggers.
