The other day I was asked to do some striping on a local guy's truck and I'm wondering what you guys expect to pay for a job nowadays. I know there are a lot of variables to account for such as size/number of colors/complexity/number of panels but is there a standard set of fees you advertize? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I've been doing it for a couple of years now. Luckily, I don't depend on it for a living and I'm able to charge less than those who do. Tried to keep in mind that we're still in a recession and there's not as much disposable income out there as several years ago. I sell panels for $75 and helmets for the same price. I go by how long I think it will take to finish and it usually comes out to about $100/hr. Because of prep and setup, I won't take any less than $40 for small jobs. You can get a lot more people interested in your work if you're willing to adjust to the current economic conditions. In turn, they'll promote you by word of mouth and be likely to return when they need more work done. Wish you the best in it!
