You guys have some great models from the 60's & 70's but I like the real early ones, late 40's and early 50's. Here are some balsa wood model kits from around 1947-48. These were pretty simple kits but you could make a pretty detailed car out of some, especially the Ace kits. Mick

A little OT, but does anyone remember who used to make those "crash" cars in the early to mid 60's. They were plastic, about 1/25 scale sedans that had a friction motor. You'd snap on the fenders and hood and aim it at a wall and it'd fly apart on impact. They were some of my favorite toys as a kid, bit I've never been able to find any. Probably had a low survival rate. Bob
This is not spam but if anyone is looking for an old kit, there is a hobby shop in my home town(Te***seh MI)that has tons of obsolete kits. They're not cheap but the guy has an unbelieveable selection.I believe they have a website and do a lot of mail order. The name of the place is J-Bar Hobbies on Chicago Boulevard in Te***seh.Oh yes the name isn't what you think;it's owner's first names are Jerry and Barbara. If you can't find their website,PM me and I'll check it out for you.The shop is only a mile from my house.
