I would like to learn to weld. Anyone know of any decent courses in the Los Angeles area? I can only do in evenings or weekends and live in Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area.
    Thanks.

I know that this would be a bit far, but Cerritos College offers a great welding program. I did a two year program in GTAW (tig) and got a couple of certificates in aluminum and stainless. They have a great group of instructors with lots of years of experience. Tig is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning and evening. Also check out the fabrication cl*** and blueprint cl***.

I also offer cl***es in mig (GMAW), tig, and oxyacetylene at pretty good size shop in Gl***ell Park (near the 5 and the 2 in Los Angeles). More art and furniture related than hot rod, but the welding technique is the same. Shorter night and weekend cl***es for those with day jobs.
