My oil canister always gets a small amount of oil coming out the hex head holding the lid down. Is there a gasket or o-ring that is under there?
You won't know 'til you look. I would remove it, clean it all up and figure out why it's leaking.......then do what's necessary to stop it. That may include introducing an "O" ring, gasket or some "form-a-gasket."
I didn't even know they had plastic ones! Ill have 2 get down in my driveway this weekend while the wifes away!
Took the lid off last night... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=35592&pictureid=408827 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=35592&pictureid=408826
Plastic ones usually crack,..or they harden from heat and contact with oil. Most were either copper, or "fiber",..another word for the phenolic material used to make them. 4TTRUK
