Does anyone know what a reasonable price of a Flathead 6 for a 1937 Plymouth would cost in a condition that needs to be rebuilt and also the 3 speed transmission that goes with it?

If you watch Craigslist long enough, you can get one waaaaay cheaper than that. I see Mopar fatties all the time for a couple hundred bucks and occasionally for free.

  4. I'd expect it to sell for not much more than it's wieght in s****, maybe a little more if it runs and has good compression.

This ad is a month old, and I have no idea where Ozarks is, unless he is talking about the mountains... But his phone number is local to you.

The truck bell housing and ****** are probably not gonna work in your car. But the motor should.

The eBay ad asking price is ridiculous...........I agree with above posts.....a suitable to rebuild core .......from free to $200 max........a trans ...from free to $100

I have bought 4 of them in the last couple years except mine were from the early fifties. $65 $75 and 2 complete cars which I bought for $100 + a 1998 Lincoln.

There was a certain amount of hunting around and luck involved. Would say $100 to $200 would be about right depending on condition and completeness.

What kills me is the *holes that take them out of perfectly good cars because they are "no good, going to put in a Chev 350" then think these "no good" engines are worth a fortune.

Well I am actually trying to sell what I have and wanted to know a fair price to post it at so I don't sound like one of those A**holes. :)
