Found out about this car, the price kept going down and down, so I just could not p*** on it, it is a really nice running and driving 51 ford, been chopped, came with tons of spare parts, all the stainless has been done, has new wiring, new wheels, radial wide whites, nice leather interior, boxes of new parts. Front end rebuilt, all new brakes, small block chev with a 5-speed behind it and an 8" ford rear. So anyone want to take a guess on what I gave for it?? Anyways here are some pics. Jim
No gl***, I have to get it cut, but its all flat so no biggie there, has the back gl***, I put it in today.
Thats what it started at, they kept going down till I gave in and bought it at $1000, not to bad, do ya think? Jim
Even flat gl*** ****s to get in there if the widow channels are all out of sorts... I found that out the hard way...
Well I have my merc for sale, but if it does not sell I am just going to put it in the corner of the shop and it will be there for a someday car, this one is close to being on the road, 99% of the wiring is done, like I said it runs and drives very nice, body is pretty good, the top is nice, but the nose needs finished up, its set up for dual 59 caddy taillights, I have those they are new so I will run them for now, but I have other plans later on for that. I also want to french the headlights but that will be a winter deal too, for now its just get it in the shop for the gl*** and get the few little wiring things finished up, then bolt the interior in it and enjoy a car for a change, that will be my theropy. On a different note, I lost another close friend, he was just 24 years old, married and had 2 children, he was a logger, a tree fell on him, he didnt suffer, but I dont know what his wife and kids are going to do....I am going to his funeral tomorrow, it just amazes me how many good people this world is losing at such a fast rate, never miss a chance to let those that mean so much to you know what they mean to you. You never know how fast they can be gone. With that being said, I consider you all good friends so please everyone be careful in everything you do every day, always use jack stands, even if you are just going to be under that car for a second, it only takes a second, always, look a second time before you pull out of that intersection, just watch your ***es, we all want to see ya on here tomorrow! Jim
Jim, I hate to say it but being careful has never been anything that I have done. I am glad to see the deal you made on the ford and sad for you with the loss of your friend. It is rough, mine are dropping like flies, I don't even do funerals anymore. I'm here for ya if you need an ear to bend. Benno
It's got a nice looking chop and a killer stance. That will be a neat car. Please don't put any sunvisors or fender skirts on it.
Thief!! Great score, will be a nice driver with little work. Sorry to hear about your friend. Almost lost a friend to a logging accident a couple years ago, but he made it thruogh and is doing well. Guess you never know when it's your time, but always tough on the family. Thoughts out to them, as well as to you.
Well, I think you are a very very sick person. I would have done the same in my younger years. Good luck.
LOL, thanks guys, thank you for the good wishes for my buddy, he was a hell of a good guy, he was a fire fighter, and a hard worker, was not into cars, just into his family and that is all it took to make him happy. As for my car, I am still pinching myself, I just keep going over the car and can not believe I bought this car for a grand! Hell there had to have been more than that spent on the stainless, the vent windows, the rubbers and the fuzzies for the car!, then there are boxes of other new parts on top of that!! Hell I drove the car down the street and back again today, actually got on it a little bit today, man it runs! Went throught the gears up to 4th and my eyes started tearing up, need gl*** LOL! Definatly keeping the stance and the look of the car the way it is, no skirts or anything, kinda has a cool look the way it is, no spots on it or anything, I did pick up a really nice set of old cal custom curved end finned valve covers for it, now I need a cool breather for it so the engine dosent look quite so "new". But I am in love with it for what I have in the car for damn sure! Jim
Ya know thats kinda funny, for some reason, you are not the first one to ask me that question.....but I still think I will p***, but thank you very much! LOL, Jim
