    MORE please your doing a bang up job the rear shock mounts look super. The whole build is super but you know that.

    Waiting on parts for customer work, so used the morning to make these. I'll cut the ears off the waterpumps.

    Very very cool!!!!! Man I normally don't always recommend getting rid of the welds since that's just more meat off the bone but if those were filed they'd look like a cast Ford part!!!!

    You're my hero.

    Thankyou all. I thought about overfilling the welds and grinding them back, but once everything is installed you practically cant see them at all! And I've gotta work on customers stuff today, so that'll do. :)

    I'm not overly convince that's a good idea...

    original flathead water pump / engine mount bolts (4) are mounted in sheer over approx 8 inches total c-c for a reason.. they carry & spread engine load throughout the block without loading the blocks threads..

    your design with two bolts about 2 1/2 inches apart is reliant on thread loading / pullout resistance only..especially on the lower two bolts... & you've increased the loading on the mounting bolts by moving the ch***is mounting point forward to the crossmember.

    hope those 70 year old flathead threads hold ! I'd hate to see that motor come loose...

    Oh, hogwash.... For a fella with a username like yours I think you would know that's the same a way 32 v8 engine mounts from the factory.

    Looks great too, by the way, Ben. I mounted the engine in my roadster the same way.

    by the way...did you ever think it may be a reason Ford changed the design for later motors....

    It's also a similar design to every Hurst engine mount ever made. I'm sure those four grade 8 - 7/16" bolts torqed to spec in one of henry's finest blocks will be more than enough to keep his oil pan off the pavement. ;)

    back to your regularly scheduled programming...

    just because something has been done aftermarket in the past doesn't make it stronger..hurst made race parts...sometimes used for street cars.

    In Australia & particularly NSW we have to justify modifications of our vehicles to engineering inspectors to ensure each modification is an improvement in design & strength..

    in this case.. it isn't.. it's a backward step in strength...

    function comes before style...sometimes:D

    Deuce 32, I guess you know that this design is original to 32s , there is a step that catches under the block at the back of the mount, which takes the gravitational shear load off the bolts, you can't see it in the photo. The only disadvantage I noted is a slightly smaller resistance to rotational torque loads of the engine, but neither I , nor my engineer, consider this a problem. Thanks for the feedback though!

    Hey Ben.. no can't see the tab in the pics.. they would be fairly small to clear

    the pan rail so doubt they would show...hey.. as long as your happy & your engineer is

    OK with it.. all good...some nice fab work..

    I just mentioned it cause it's one of those things I would worry over.
