I would guess big truck. Something like Federal or Reo. looks like as old as 32, but some of those companies kept that style cab into the 50's.
The closest match I could find is a 50's White 9000 ... how much bigger are big rig cabs compared to pickup cabs? is there a huge size difference or are they fairly similar?
Autocar Cab, early to mid seventies.. No truck companies in the fifties used the lower corner of the door to mount their doorhandles till then.. You haven't found a terribly rare cab, small though and would suit to build a rod if you don't tell anyone what you have...
Hey thanks man - was really keen to figure out what it was. Have now got my eyes on a Barrel Nose cab which is in really good condition so I think I'll be shooting for that anyway. I had a '42 Chev cab but it was destroyed in an earthquake which destroyed most of the city last year when it struck (I live in Christchurch, NZ). Have been on the look out for another cab since. Getting seriously hard to find over here now. Thanks for your help guys. Really appreciated.
I have a Mack cab that is about 1 1/2'' wider than a 36 Ford cab. This cab looks remarkably close in features. I put a 37 Ford hood on it to check size, which was close and the belt line molding was close.
Wisenhemier's pic is the same cab and grille I have. Dint have the bulldog on it when I found it. Amazingly rust free and complete except fo exterior door handles.
Autocar somewhere between the late 50's and mid 70's. Probably later due to the style of door handle. The good thing is that windshield gl*** should be somewhat easy to find and if the body is in good shape you will fab everything else yourself. With a late 50's nose and grill and sitting on a mid 70's pickup ch***is that would make a nice little truck.
Believe it or not but it`s later than it looks. It looks like a late 80`s diamond reo cab.The door handle holes are square.Thats the later version of truck handles.Big truck builders don`t change cab styles often so what looks old style can be a later year.Mack used the R-model basic style cab for over 30 years.
