I am mocking up my 32 ch***is and I would like to use a 36 axle along with 36 bones and a closed drive. Right now all I have is the 36 drive shaft and tube. I know the TT and drive shaft do not shorten easily because of the taper. It seems like the bones are going to mount very close to the back of the k member. I am wondering if anyone sucsessfully has this setup?

make a set of headers out of your drive shaft and as mentioned already locate and shorten a drive shaft out of a newer rear axle ***embly.

as for your rods you will need to do alittle research as to how to make long bones work in a 32 frame. acouple very good examples:

i have already heated up my forgings and bent them inward after the bolt flange and right before the welded seem. later if need be i will releive the frame as minewithnoshine's is.

    Here's one I prepared earlier...
I shortened the outer at the rear, and cut the inner through the middle , made a jig to hold it straight and did a cir***ferential weld. Some might think this isn't the way to do it, but I'm confident it will outlive me. The bones have to be shortened and cut off at the rear end and rewelded at the correct angle. You also have to rework the crossmember centre to accept the straight spring, which also needs de arching..It's a long, involved job, but at the end it all looks like it grew there.

if you reangle the rear rods as ben suggested make sure that you compensate the difference in the spring mount also. otherwise your spring will be in quite a bind.
