If you are going to establish an email address and advertise it then common sense would be that you actually use it. I prefer email also because I don't even have a long distance phone service and most old car business is long distance. I also think its like ignoring a phone call, just rude if thats how you do business.
But, I don't have a dog in this fight.....just an opinion.

    SlmLrd,
I've looked through my PMs and I have received two from you. One on 3-26-2012 about spyder caps, that I did respond to, and one from yesterday, about shannon cones, sent a few hours before you started the tread, that, sorry, I haven't gotten to yet. Sorry about the miscommunication, but I don't believe I've received any Emails from you.

Yes, we found another source for the centers again, I should be getting my first batch of 5 on 4.75" in a few days and the 4.5" should be here in a few weeks

Jimmy made me four custom offset steelies for my Victoria custom....he suggested a 6" wide hoop with old Plymouth centers welded in......early Mopar rims are the same bolt pattern as shoebox Fords......A great solution......very reasonable price and delivered when he said he would......I couldn't be happier......oh, and we always talked on the phone as I know that's what he prefers..... 559-322-2128

Keep in mind that with Email it doesn't always get through. I know that I have had people say they sent me some Email questions at work and I looked back and never got them. Sometimes it's a spam blocker, sometimes I think **** just gets lost in cyberspace. So before you condemn a company (any company) based on not getting an email response - pick up the phone!
And as far as I am concerned a PM through a Social Forum is NOT a way to expect to do business, even if it is convenient for you. Most business' don't monitor forums everyday!

I completely agree about the PM to a point but if you offer it as a way to get a hold of you then you better be monitoring it everyday. I don't know if Rally suggests PM's as a contact method but if they do they should be answering them in a timely way and they very well may have from their response to the OP. My point was more directed to the at***ude that if you want service you need to phone and my point is in this day and age that is archaic thinking. Yes the odd email may get lost but when companies don't return multiple emails ( and I am in no way saying that was the case here but it seems to come up a lot with various vendors) they are not all getting lost in cyber space. I truely think companies don't take emails as seriously as they should sometimes.

I had to chime in on this, My dealing didn't got that smooth at all custom back spacing on a set of Chevy pattern 5 on 4.75 for my 35 ... Promise dates came and went, while my car sat on jack stands... Never did find out what was the hang up. In the end I will deal with him again, and the wheels were great... Hi have to agree with Don here, people should know the good and the bad.. about anyone .. I too would rather have a straight forward answer if it's not what I was hoping to hear.
all in all, the product I bought was as stated... took longer than stated but they look killer on my car.

OK. It is 2012. If you are a business, you need to answer EVERY phone call. If you also have a web-based mail order business, you need to respond to every inquiry, whether it is regarding an order already placed or someone wanting to order. PERIOD. It's good business, it's the tight thing to do.

If you can't do that, then you have no position to offer multiple contact points-PM?, email? fax? phone? mail? We hear far too often that these are "good folks with a good product just a little behind in their work". I am certain that is true, but it's all a lot of bull. RA, by all reports, offers a very good product. But, a business is only as good as the next customer it serves. Great business is built on a good product AND good customer service. If you can't deliver on that, you shouldn't lead the public on that you can.

I recently ordered some steelies with custom backspacing from Jimmy. All dealt with by phone.

Received them within 2 to 3 weeks as promised.

Very easy to deal with. Thanks again Jimmy!

absolutely not! What we do nowadays, is bash, talk ****, and trash until the person FINALLY hears about it than gets ahold of you. As a buisness owner, I have had this happen. Finished a camaro a few weeks ago. Wet sanded and polished FOR FREE cause I wanted to see it done. I admit there was a few issues when It left. But easy stuff that needed touched up later. He wanted to put it together and drive it. He was not much worried if worried at all when it left here. I told him to bring it back and I would make it right. I care not how. Repainting, whatever. Instead he chose to go to a local car show and drag me through the mud. NEVER said a word to me. refuses to answer his phone and continues to bash me around town. This sounds like one of those cases. Just from what I have read so far.

No,you've got it backwards. Your customer was an ***. In this case, the OP has tried every means at his disposal-email,online, phone-to contact the supplier-who won't answer him back, At issue is whether it's right to say YOU can contact ME and then not bother to respond. Your situation is not even close, and I don't think being unable to reach a business and saying so is bashing, trashing or talking ****.
