Seems like there are a few people on here building 50s pontiacs at the moment. Rather than clutter up a build thread with random pics, wondered if this thread might be a good place to post up some inspiration, a car you own or not... Thanks
Here's my one. Broke the little six pretty good so have bought Jag front and rear ends and a small block and trans which will go in shortly. Supposed to be my daily driver so once we're back on the road, will chip away at the body with very mild custom being the order of the day...
Great pics too guys, keep em coming! I drool over the 49 - 54 chev threads but nice to see pontiac specific pics too
There have been a couple long Pontiac discussions in the past you may want to check out. Here are a few of them, you can find others with the search function. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357035 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=646190 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=685947 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=718243
Thanks for those! Have searched a bit but mainly found threads (inc some of the above) relating to Pontiac in general or 60s stuff rather than 50s. Plus there's a heap of broken links in the older stuff. Cheers, Cal
A few years OT but here's mine. It's an old circle track car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9qClgc9Mz4
Pontiacs are so under used as customs when they are such nicely styled rides. I had a 55 with the illuminated Indian head hood ornament, it is trick stuff like this that makes pontiacs such awesome rides to customize . I wish I had that ride again
And tricky at the same time I reckon. For me personally, there's a lot of trim on the car that I have to retain to keep it a pontiac where I might normally shave a lot more.
Here's mine that I had to keep longer than expected. I was about to sell it and the the motor blew up the day before the guy came to pick it up.. after 3 years of reliable daily driving!! I guess the old gal didn't want to leave me yet
