Flathead tranny

    Does anyone know if a 3 speed ****** from a Flathead V8 fit a V6 Flathead?

    You must mean 6 cylinder inline NO case is not the same.

    Yeah, V6 flathead. All the WWll halftracks had 'em.

    ...Maybe the 3/4 tracks, on second thought... 6/8=3/4...Yeah. The 3/4 tracks.

    All kidding aside, George...How is the 6 cyl case different? (pre-'48, I mean...)

    that's one sweat overdrive unit - looks like a Merc....

    old Henry made stock adaptors to fit his flat heads to just about any trannie... big Lincolns - 377 - would maybe be the exception....please correct me if I'm wrong....

    The transmission......but not the bellhousing........should fit either V8 or inline 6.

    The 6 cylinder bellhousing to engine block bolt pattern and starter location are different than the V8.
