I am feeling fine, and starting to get some muscle back, but still cruising with my walker HMMM Maybe I should flame it. I was looking to drive the 27 late fall, but right now I am way ahead of schedule. so with all the fenders mocked up. Today I started hammering out some dents, and a little body work before I take then off for painting maybe this weekend. Might even make it to a local cruise night before they shut them down for the season.
Thanks. We still have a date for the 1/4 mile at the HAMB drags, but it will have to be next year. Hope all is well with ya.
Throttle linkage, alternator bracket and alternator install, mount the seats, install the windshield and the back gl***, build mounts for the front shocks. It will be loud but thats what hot rods are supposed to be. Might take it out this friday for it's shakedown run. quite a difference from when I drug it home,
I have quite a bit of free time right now until I get myself back in shape for work, so might as well work on the hot rod. Gl*** should be here today along with my throttle cable. I will mount the alternator and bracket tomorrow. and try to get the seats done today. I can't wait for friday to shake this car down a little bit. might even do a video of it's cruise.
I took the delivery out friday night to check for flaws or bugs and found a couple. The intake manifold leaked water, and the brakes got hot from the open exhaust and started to bind. Both easy fixes. The car showed well and it was a blast to have a hot rod under my **** again. Have a look
Thanks guys. I got the intake manifold gaskets repaired yesterday and talked to my exhaust guy this morning about the cost to quiet it down.
John, car looks great! Haven't been on here much in a while as I've been too busy with work and life. Hope all is well!
I was wondering where you got off to. Everything is going well as long as I can play cars I am a happy camper. I am still working on the 28 chevy delivery that I sold, but took a break from it and took the opportunity to get the 27 running, but now I need to get back on the 28. I figured with the lack of profesional body work on my 27, and it just in seal coat primer, and with it going to stay that way for awhile. I decided to stencil some kind of message for people to read to answer the questions of when will it be finished, or when are ya going to paint it. Have a look
Thanks Oh trust me that's why I had to get the windshield in it. Cuz when I am motoring it I am all smiles and was worried about all the insects.
I got a beveled edge rear view mirror and needed someplace to mount it, so I decided that a stereo box above the windshield would give me the platform to mount the mirror, and the stereo when needed. I built the box out of steel and used a friends brake to fold the edges, then some slight welding, and grinding, and a little paint. Done
Man that CD player is older than I am come on John! Ha just giving you a hard time looks like it works perfectly. I've been working a lot and during free time throwing together a 72 C10 shop truck (which a guy is supposed to come get one of these days here soon). I got back and did a couple things to the coupe tonight. No more projects until I get that coupe done! Take care, Ben
