ok, so i have the opportunity to buy a 1932 5 p***enger confederate coupe, body, frame, doors etc. but i dont know much about them, ive only seen pics of stock restored ones and im not sure how uncommon/common they are. does any one have any insight on these?
GM bodies are totally structured in wood until 1937. If there is no wood there you likely be missing tons of hardware includings door latches, window reulators, door hinges, strikers, etc. as well as deck lid hardware, windshield stuff, the list goes on and on. Take it from there. It is probably the most desireable body style that year.
This is a 31, done up nice. I don't know if the 32 looks quite like it, I know the top front of the body is different, no visor.
I am not sure that I ever heard of a Confederate coupe. It was made in 'VBama or ??? Pasadena rod is completely correct about the fram work for the body being made from wood, but that can be over come with steel tubing. it is not likely that one will find a wood kit for a '32 Chevy at a reasonable price if one even exists. All that said it is not a Ford but if I could find one real reasonable and wanted a rod it would be a good candidate at my house.
A very good friend had a 1931 5 p***enger Chevrolet Coupe, great looking car. I've always thought the Confederate Coupe was a normal 2-3 p***enger Coupe. Bob
from the pics ive seen of it, some of the wood is still intact, im not sure why they named it confederate coupe but i looked the name up online and thats what they are calling it, the price is just too good to walk away from, i think im going to purchase it and see what i can do with it
I was going to post a pic of the one Squirrel posted. I talked to the owner of that one last weekend and he said that only made that body style for two years. I had never seen one before. That one is a bad mofo...
I've seen the blue one quite a bit, I saw it come off the trailer before Steve started working on it.
So its actually a baby sedan? It really resembles a Vicky in the back. It could make a real nice little ride.
it looks like it would seat 2 up front, 2 in back and a rumble seat for 1? or is that a trunk lid in front of the box?
GM had a habit of naming their Ford Victoria styled cars 5-p***enger Coupes. Beautiful even in funky 20s versions Buicks etc.
Has a trunk. 3 people fit in the back seat, and it had buckets up front originally. Some folks call it a Vicky, but not Chevy.
