    heres his pm to me

    Hello ***us:
I am so glad that my old Deuce is going to be restored to it's former glory I built it in 1959-60, drove it out to Calgary where I met my future wife. Sadly I had an accident when some kids pulled out from a stop street right in front of me and I T-Boned them bnding the fram and destroying the grille and left front fender, I found another car a fordoor in Northern Alberta and used the frame had it sand blasted and boxed it changing the rear cross member to lower it, built new rear traction masters. and changed out the Cad-Lasalle ****** for a hydro. Eventaully I drove it back home to Toronto with my fiancee. In your photo's it looks pretty sad. It ea sin brown primer when I sold it and bought a 64-1/2 Mustang coupe. This car was unbeaten on the street.
    Yours aye
    Old Sabretoe

and i found this in his hamb bio

I started building rods in 1959 with a 32Ford fordoor whiuch at the time had a 48 merc flathad, I changed it out for a 303 olds with cad lasalle ****** olds rear end, dropped front axle and rack and pinion steering from an MGA. At this time I upgraded it to a deluxe sedan with side mounted spares and Caddy Eldorado Wire wheels. Racedit in A-Gas with an engine from our fuel dragster 455 Olds. In 67or8 too long ago to remember exactly.
Drove it back to Ontario with my fiancee. Eventually sold it and bought a 64-1/2 Mustang coupe I built many sets of headers for the local rodders Painted a few cars (Coupes, Roadsters and Pickups mostly A's and B's)

So, you still going to go with the Blown Olds, or back to how he had it?

    Hello ***us:
If you ever decide to part with this car please give me first refusal. I should never have sold it in the first place! When I rebuilt it in Calgary I put a luggage rack on the back, now it seems to have been removed. It sure looks like it has been neglected by several of the subsequent owners. I can not take credit for the wood grain dash however!
    Cheers

  10. Very cool, I remeber reading this thread when you first bought it, now that it has Alberta history I find it very interesting.
Any idea how long it was out west before going back to Ontario?

I was there from 64-67 Hooked up with Nick Kozak and his 40 Willys and fuel rail. Lived on the North Hill near the Beacon Hotel. Very nice of the minister of Hwy's to shut down the byp*** for us to put on drags. Still have many friends there.

Jeff: FYI The 394 I dropped in the Deuce was fully balanced crank, rods, pistons, pity they s****ped it. It was part of my job description as well as grinding and building up crankshaft jounals with a new welding process when I worked at Garage Supply in Toronto back in the late fifties. The car was Black when I bought it and I repainted it dark blue, after the accident in Calgary I was in a time crunch to return to Toronto and it stayed in brown primer.
    Cheers

Hi John, This is great that you came on here. I'm kind of an Olds motor lover as well as liking old builds.

That 394 standard shift must have been pretty rare even back then?

Well, time for a little update on this car, i started working on a 31 chevy coupe for a customer that is also a survivor so i decided i would enter the 32 fordor and the chevy in the GSTA rod and customer spectacular and do another survivor display, so ive been busting but on the chevy and had planned to get a motor and trans into the 32 so thats where im at now, i pulled the car in the shope the other day and started cleaning things up a little. pulled a couple leaves out of the front to help lower it some, also started mocking up my 471 blown 324 olds motor in it, that fit in really nice.
so thats about it for now, ill do some more putsy stuff on it but its gonna kinda be in found condition for the show.

Don't cut out the spare wells, USE THEM! I think there was a set of those wheels, with patina, in the HAMB cl***ifieds recently.

Tuck and roll?,,there's a 32 ford sedan up here that's been in storage since '67 and it still has white tuck and roll on the running boards...a 60's trend. I think the owner has figured out how to "bring 'em with you"
