    Sorry about 2 threads. Been having a lot of problems with my Hughes Net connection, must have hit it twice. I bought a new 427 in 63 and would have sworn that it had an alternator. I guess i was wrong.

    My 64 shop manual has a section on alternators so they must have been optional before 65.

    '63 were all generators,alts. were optional in '64, standard in '65
