Damn. You lucky Sum-Bitch!!! hahaha It doesn't event look like the car you found anymore! Can't wait to see it all done. Usually I'm not a fan of Spoke wheels, but damn! Those Kelsey Hayes wheels make the look! Hope to make it out to your clubhouse and see it one of these days!

  2. It was never finished as a hot rod. He did the front suspension and pulled all the garnish moldings and headliner to get ready for a chop . He put a set of homemade reversed wheels on the back , and the radiator went bad on him so he parked it in the early 50's then life got in the way and it sat till last month!!!! He hadn't got to the motor yet !

Damn that looks awesome!!!!!!! I was thinking about painting my 33 dark chocolate brown (I know you say it's maroon but the pics show brown) and that looks killer!!!!

    Great work!!!!!

  7. actually what you are looking at is basically brown . it was coach maroon with red oxide primer , rust , metal, mold , moss , and other various forms of fungus , squirrel and rat shit , smashed acorns , smashed corn cobs , and original Henry Ford steel. from a few feet away and in the last pics it definitely looks brown and i REALLY like the look and may go with a dark shade of brown myself . here are a couple close up pics that will make me way less cool in every ones eyes than the other pics did .it doesn't look as brown or as nice up close and in person .... HA HA ... it is hard to take a bad pic of a 33 or 34 ford coupe though !

  8. the last owner torched the pitman arm off and removed the draglink cause he didn't have a key to unlock the steering wheel . he also torched the levers off the shocks and actually torched the running boards and 3 of the fenders off too . its crazy how little they cared about these things back in the 50's . !!!! i'm not rushing it , i'm actually almost not worthy of having this car , if i got it 3 years ago i would have cut the floors out of it already to channel it and would have cut the hell outta the frame to lower it and probably already started to chop it etc. etc. and likely would have half assed most of it ! i'm actually glad i found it later rather than sooner . i'm really looking forward to using restraint on this one !!!

Those last 2 pics are art.

Shame they hacked the peripheral stuff so bad.

Restraint is the key word here.

    Mart.

Justin, I've got a full gallon of old Lucite lacquer paint I'll donate. Its a dark brown/maroon color with maybe a slight hint of metallic, you won't really know until its mixed properly.

  15. thanx for all of the compliments guys. i'll post a couple pics of the interior and of the engine but beware , neither one of those things looks as cool as the car does in the pics on page 4 . remember this car sat pretty much outdoors under some pallets and some barn tin type enclosure for about 60 years in upstate NY . the floors ,dash, and steering wheel are like mint , the seat , door panels and guages and bezel are a bit worn but complete . it has a couple of the original cream rubber factory mats in it one for the tranny and one for i think the pedal assembly where it comes through the floor , original package tray in tact the original wood bows under the roof insert are there but one is cracked , original dome light hanging from them . its a time capsule and still smells horrible :)

i'll add a couple more pics tomorrow

  16. sweet , i'm in , i think you just decided for sure what color it will eventually be !!!

Nice find! What did you wind up having to give for it?

  23. i gave less than its worth and more than i planned to spend , that's about as much as i'm willing to divulge at the time . i will say i have seen model A's in the same condition sell for more than i paid

and the next ones actually show a really good look at what the factory color was on the car , it is amazingly well preserved in the door jambs

  30. here are a couple pics of the dropped axle that he bought in 1949 while on a cross country trip to california from upstate NY on a 46 indian motorcycle . i'm sure it was a treat getting it home strapped onto his motorcycle or his back for part of the trip !!
