I need some advise please. I'm now working on the body of my F100 and I'm being buried with parts. So I decided I would like to complete the rear of the truck first with paint and all. Then work on the cab and front. I just took a shipment of a new tailgate, bedsides, wood floor and rear fenders and they are taking up to much space. Should I ***emble the bed first then prime and paint or should I prime and paint the ***emble? It seems if I ***emble first less damage could happen vs painting then ***embling, plus bolts would get painted as well however some part the **** up together would never get a coating of paint. What is the best way to go about this? Thanks
you probably want to paint all the parts first, then ***emble...or at least paint the hidden edges, then ***emble it loosely and paint it, then finish ***embly including installing the wood. it's hard to paint the fenders when they're on the bed...
The bed needs to be ***embled into the box before it's primed or painted. The fenders need to be painted seperately from the box.
ya I was going to paint the fenders separately the ***emble on the bed, should i treat the hidden edges first before ***embly or is it really not a problem once everything is painted?
Squirrel gave you the best answer: ***emble loosely so paint can reach the flanges and surfaces which will be "buried" when ****oned up. I'd prime all the pieces separately though.
