I live a few blocks from the OC fairgrounds but always end up going to the Ventura Nationals....Has more of a Traditional Feel... www.venturanationals.com/ventura-nationals#!__ventura-nationals
I'll be there with my 37 coupe. Haven't missed on e in all 30 years. we are camping in the motorhome on the EAST end of the cruise route. Look for the bright Orange 37 and say HI. Also look for the Doug's Headers EZ Up at our camp site.
I will be right around the corner from hotroddon.on the end of the main cruise route second camp site from the corner. ive been going for at least the last 20 year. great local event, good people.stop by and say HI! I will be bringing the 41 pu.
It kind of is a shame about this show now,it used to be one of the biggest/ best shows around.I dont understand what happened to make so many people not go.The fairgrounds are great and I think its a killer place for a show but so many people drive to Ventura for the weekend.
Not too many people. The crowds have down over the last 5-6 years. But, the crowds have actually been picking up over the past couple of years. Plenty of room for more cars. I like this show because can cruise. IMO, moving cars are a big advantage in fun over a static car show. And, it goes into the night!! Many weekend car shows end at 3-4:00 pm -lame.
I'll be there Saturday, pretty much all day will probably come out Sunday in the afternoon for a couple of hours, I've got my pickup up for sale, so it may be a good time for exposure. this is from Labor Day
i don't know about that. I've been to everyone, and even at it's peak I never thought it was "Too Crowded". And $35.00 for a car and two people for a single day, or $55.00 for the three days seems like a pretty decent deal these days to me.
look at it this way, where else can you go locally and spend a holiday weekend enjoying cars and good people. as well as meet new friends, for the price? also agree that with the cruise route its not just a car show. ill be there tomorrow through the weekend!
For me, the people watching is always better at Ventura, plus the temp is in the '70's. Also, the nightlife in the motel parking lots are fun too.
First time going. I am bringing my blown green t bucket. I think I am hitting the anti donut breakfast to.
Ventura fell through we had to cancell our plans due to lack of funds. Im taking my family to the fairgrounds and looking forward to it, 1st. time to this show.
I will be there Fri - Sun...setting up in the gr*** area as you enter. Was by there today to sign up...looks like a few new things!
I've been to both & had a great time at both. Can't make it this year cuz of no dough to go. Here's a link to my slide show from 2009. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvd95iaHTL0
No reason not to do them all. Friday night, El Segundo Hot Rod/Car Craft show, Saturday off to Ventura, Sunday I'll be cruising Costa Mesa. I think thats a pretty good way to break in a car thats been on the road 2 weeks.
yesterday the famiy and I went to the cruise, it was lots of fun big turn out. lots of cool cars, saw 4 1957 Oldsmobile coupes, wifes fav car. thanks for the heads up guys on this show. be back there in a few weeks for the cruise for a cure show.
