The NE Georgia Swap Meet is Saturday, September 1 at The Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia. We had 100 vendors last month, even with sketchy weather in the regionIve heard from dozens of people they stayed home because of the rain, and we still had 100 vendors and more spectators than weve ever had! Vendor spaces are only $20 for all the space you need. Spectator entry is $5 Vendor set-up is 7am, gates open to the public at 8:30 I-85 to Exit 147/Hwy 441. Go West/North West on 441 to the first light; Left at the light. Take the first RIGHT after the light, and the track is on the right hand side. meh... it's supposed to stay to our west and be done by Thurs. But it looks like you'll be setting up on the blacktop again
I've been getting calls all week asking about the show. That's good for two reasons: Historically, that means we have a big show. And the only people who call and ask are people who have never been there before. That's good too, because it means it'll grow again. I'll bring the watermelon! -Brad
That's six hours away! Come EARLY... the sweet spot for the swap meet is between 9 and 10:30 or 11. I'd HATE for you guys to get there and not have it be worth the trip! If you're up for the drive for just my swap meet, you need to plan on coming to my Gear Jam vintage race and hot rod show next May! Yup... I just announced it here... Pre '67 traditional-looking drag cars, and pre '64 hot rods and customs... no billet, no modern wheels, no modern hood scoops, no modern paint schemes... Drag classes are Gassers, FED, Altered/Comp Coupe, Hot Rod and I'm working on Nostalgia Super Stocks. Combined with a traditional hot rod show, and a huge swap meet, it should be a pretty good gig. We now return you to your regularly-scheduled program, already in progress. -Brad
With 130+ vendors and 600+ spectators, I think it's safe to say that Brad's swap has really taken off!!! Danny, sorry I didn't introduce myself yesterday- wandered over with Stevie, and completely forgot to!
Hey man, I wanted to stop and talk with you a bit... haven't seen you in forever. We were going to invite you out to lunch with us after, and when I finally got back to my table after things had slowed down, we all looked up and saw you were gone. -Brad
Brad,,I know you would have liked the vendors to stay till around 2:00 and I hung in there as long as there were spectators but around 1:00 PM the buyers had dried up and there were just a few cars in the parking area. HRP
Yup. I'm trying to get them to stay later... it's like a turbo: The longer the vendors stay, the more spectators will know they can get there later. The more spectators there are later, the more the vendors will stay. This weekend, I figured out the solution to this problem though: I'm just going to have to grow the swap meet so big that it takes spectators several hours to walk through the whole thing on the first pass. If it takes 4 hours for a spectator to walk through the whole thing, the vendors won't be able to pack up until much later in the afternoon. It'll be a vicious cycle... -Brad

Lots of folks out there this weekend folks... didn't find anything I needed, but there was plenty to look at. -W
Yes. First Saturday of every month, March thru December. We take January and February off. I just spoke with the track today, and we're real close to having our dates set for next year too. As HRP said, shoot me an email, and I'll get you on our monthly email reminder list. brad56@windstream.net -Brad
My big score of the weekend was two new cans of WD40 for $5... the guy had a whole case of them, and I'm still trying to figure out why I didn't spend $10 and go home with four. I never really got a chance to look at all the stuff... I made one pass late in the day, and only got to see about 1/6 of it before I got called away again, so I was pleased with my little WD40 score. All the more since I used the last remnants of the two cans I had in the shop just a few days before. And remember W, next month is the Stovebolt show and the cruise to Helen... of everyone I know, I expect YOU to make that one! -Brad
