1940 Chevy

  1. Another dumb question. With a picture though.
    Where does this go, (hood spring bracket)
    Give me a break here fella's this is my first build, I don't know if I need this or not. My car didn't come with springs or this bracket. Just hinges. Thanks again Joe Romano
    Yeah the same guy that didn't know what year his car was.............

    If its the same as a 41 I can get you a picture of the hinge-spring set up tomorrow.

    I don't think my dad used his but i think they bolted on the cowl and were used to hold the side panels between the fender and hood on.

    Check out this pic. On the drivers side cowl below the hood hinge to the right of the black voltage regulator, you can see the hood spring bracket.

    There is a hole in the hood hinge that one end of the spring goes in, and the other end of the spring hooks to the bracket.

    Hope this helps you out!
