As I've said before I purchased a set of '55 Olds wheel covers and took them apart and polished them, and then I taped them off and shot them with rattle can white, glitter opal and a dash of loose glitter, followed by more opal. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with them so far. I spent all day on them and didn't get to take a shot till the sun went down so this is in door lighting for now. Once fitted to my Chevy in the day light I'll take some more pics! I also had a buddy pinstripe my trunk display photo album I'm also currently working on! Just thought I'd share!
Didn't get there before daylight ended, but I did snap some pictures outside! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Thanks! I would've liked to have gotten a bit thicker base coat, but i just couldn't keep myself from grabbing the glitter! They're going on my black '54 Chevy 210, which, seems kinda plain now! Maybe I'll spice her up with some scallops or something! I have to repaint my hood at least. Scratches and where the previous owner nosed it is coming out. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated! HR54C, Those are going to look right at home on your custome. I wish you had taken pics along the way so you could post a simple tech on it. Very old custom trick and done with suff that you can still get.
Thanks, fellas! I didn't try to do a tech because I was afraid to document something I hadn't done before! I'm sure they'll look a lot better on a sunny day! Like I said earlier, I just took off my bullets and spinners, taped em off and shot with a rattle can. Only thing different I did was sprinkle in the loose glitter between coats of glitter paint. Wish I'd had some clear sealant, but oh well. I still gotta wipe off the excess glitter, but I wanna polish em again anyway. Now I want more caps so I change em out!!
