Greetings from P.A. I am new to the forum and new to hot rod building. I am currently looking for my first project, looking for a model A. There is great amount of experience on this forum, but I know that you all had to start some where just like me. Would love to see pictures of your first rods that you built! Let the posting begin!!

  2. Go open a can of tuna, I don't doubt that at least part of my very first hot rod is part of that can. :D

these are great, and if there is already a thread does it matter if they post it here? this gives people another opprotunity to reminisce. no harm done there! K-88 said it though, that looks to be my option, but keep them coming!

My first hot rod's first day on the road, Xmas, 1960. The little 1/8 over 265 had just been fired for the first time.

This lousy polaroid picture is all I have left of my "first" hot rod. I had a bunch before this one but this is the first one that I actually got to the point where it would drive and stop under it's own power. This was about 1969 ish, and we used to bundle up my two infant Sons and go for a short ride before the cops showed up (Pennsylvania was not exactly hot rod friendly in those days :()

It had a 406 ci Olds, two fours, Cad Lasalle top loader, and the body was a 32 pickup that I removed to top off of. My current rpu project is a kinda, sorta clone tribute car to this one.

    Don

This is my first hot rod a 1933 Chevy Cabriolet. I'm still working on it and hope to have it on the road in the spring. The first picture is what I started with and the second is where I'm at today.

Not my first car, but my first rod ... 1962 and stationed at Ft. Bliss when my unit was deployed to SE Asia, and I only had about 72 hours to do something with it. Sold it to a guy in another company from the LA-area ... lost track of it then. Always regret it 'cause in my own mind I hadn't finished with that car. Pic was taken at the old Ascarate Dragway in El Paso.
