Just curious and not trying to be a smartass, but do you mean marr, with two Rs, or is mare with an E paint-speak for something I don't know? Typo?

MEK works wonders on a waxed car, it won't work worth a flip on anything with teflon in it but it cuts wax like butter.

Beaner, I can live with this.

 

You and I both, it looks as good as anything I would ever want to own and drive.

But I believe that someone on this thread thought that it was a dumb idea to buff it.

 

It was a dumb idea to buff it! It could have become a mudhole!
I got lucky. Apparently there was a clearcoat involved,and the more I scrub on this, the more I think it wasn't intended to be satin in the first place. It's the most increadable orange peel I've ever seen. And orange peel is my middle name!
Once I get the lizard skin style orange peel leveled the finish cleans up pretty well.
Outside of the gas door that is...I buffed right through the clearcoat on the gas door, and now I have a nice little grey ring.

I have to quit when it gets up to 100 degrees, I'm afraid the paint will get soft on me, and I'll screw something up.
