As most of you know I was able to get my old sedan back on Fathers day after selling it almost 15 years ago. When I sold the car I had the black grill shell and red insert on the car while I was lining things up,,the original insert was still at the powder coater when Roger showed up for the car. So, the original shell and insert were stuck in the closet and basically forgotten about until this weekend. I pulled it out Saturday and decided it's time had come,,,get the red insert and shiny shell off the car and reunite the original shell with all it's scrapes and scratches along with the well worn paint and add a splash apron which was missing,,not original but a improvement none the less. I think the car looks much better with the insert matching the wheels the way I had originally envisioned the look. HRP
Looks great! I like the color matching on the grille and wheels. Do you have any pictures of the car with the old grille and shell?
Yeah,I guess I should have done a before and after,, HRP BEFORE,,red insert and shiny shell,,plus no splash apron.

Hoarder !!!!!!!!!! New color insert looks much better. If the wheels had matched the red insert that would have been ok, but they look better in the white IMO. Nice cars. Don

MUCH better. Not many cars can make a red insert work. When I see a red insert, it makes me think, "why?".
I picked up the red insert at a swap meet and sold it with the car,,some guys can make it work but red with cream wheels just didn't do it for me. I had planed on swamping out the shell and insert and installing the splash apron this winter but with the holiday weekend and the rainy weather I decided to spend some time in the shop.,,I'm really glad I went ahead and did the swap just a major improvement in my opinion.
