It's okay, man. When I first saw that, I thought it was rather egoish, but I figured out the program was adding it. Now, if it had been:

Loaded from this bad ***, $300 iphone I just got!

I would have said something too.:D I hate a lot of this hi-tech ****. So, are the people posting from an Ipad texting while driving?

Glad I'm not alone with my observation. The advertizing just comes across very poorly, when I see it I don't bother to read the post. Bob :)

All you folks *****in about old peoples driving look @ the insurance records & you will see that the majority of accidents are not caused by the elderly. I was driving my yellow 34 5/w two days ago & going past the cattle sales yard I had not one but TWO ranchers pull out smack in front of me. The first one came out of a side street across a traffic lane right in front of me & had I not seen him & slowed he would have T-boned me I'm sure of that. The second was pulling out of the sales yard on my side of the road & looked right at me & pulled out anyway I hit the brakes had & slid to my right & missed the guys trailer by a couple of inches. Both of these guys had 5th wheel cattle trailers. I live on a dead end street where three school teachers & the county water master live. There is a stop sign @ the bottom of the hill & not one of them ever stop.
As far as testing goes I believe everyone needs to be tested that uses a cell phone or gets a DUI or has an accident. Defensive driveing has saved me numerous times from others poor habits.
    Yeah & I celebrated my 79th :Dtoday. Think I go have a toddy.:p

  8. probably not , since i don't have any and i will also probably die in the submarine i'm building

  9. no one likes to give it up , just that there is a time quit driving whether they know it or not ....and if that person doesn't do it on their own someone has to force the issue. in my mother's case i believed she would have killed someone by now

my Mom never had an accident until she was 81... and she drove since she was 18. she had 31 Chevy Coupe at one time that she had to learn how to exchange bent pushrods in. got my mechnix sense from my Mom. she wore out several cars commuting to work here in the bay area and never hit anybody.

I'm just thankful my brain's not slowin down at the same rate as my pecker. I'd be riding a tricycle with a helmet on if it were.

Imagine being sued for manslaughter when you back over someone's kids.

Imagine being incarcerated for manslaughter when you back over someone's kids, AND being sued.

I p*** 2-8 accidents on my 64-mile round-trip to and from work in the San Francisco Bay Area, every weekday. I see the drivers and victims on the side of the road, all of the time. One thing that they all have in common: they are all relatively middle-aged. It is not old drivers, per se, or young ones, either, it's BAD ones. Sure, we should have mandatory re-testing at a certain age, and at regular intervals, for all, but we should also have mandatory re-testing after every time you have an accident where you were found at-fault. Some people do not belong on the road, at any age.

I'm not trying to call anybody a lier but I'm just the Leary type , what do you think.

It isn't an age thing..it's an ability thing.
Some people have good eye/hand coordination in their seventies, eighties, and yes even their nineties..some do not.
Let's see how many of you volunteerily give up your drivers licenses, just because you reached old age, rather than dying young.
I respect my elders, apparently it's becoming more and more of a rare thing these days.
Sorry to hear you were in an accident, regardless of who hit you.
Don't let the insurance adjusters get the best of you..hold your ground.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB AND MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE! Hey this is probably the first real positive thing on this thread

  19. I think your right. Retesting when your in an accident would not be discrimating to anyone. The at fault part i differ with. Sometimes the at fault is at the descretion of the officer making out the police report. If it was written in stone anytime you where in a accident you must retest no matter what. I think everyone would try to be more careful.

I had a woman about that age back into my 51 Merc's right front fender in a parking lot 20 something years ago and she never knew she hit anything. At least they back up slowly most of the time. Driving a pickup all the time I see way too many young girls driving and texting and not watching the road along with way too many other distracted drivers. Seeing the driver in a rig by himself with a movie on the dvd screen on the dash is more than a bit scary at 11 at night on the way home.

Olds varoom, I feel the pain but the good thing is that you haven't painted it yet and it looks fixable with a few hours of work put in it.

I spent years being very careful where I parked the 48 so someone wouldn't hit the grill and after my son towed me home one evening he went out to go to work in the morning and backed right into the grill with his ElCamino right in the yard because he jumped in the truck and hit reverse without remembering that the 48 was behind it. He also broadsided my 82 Cad that was parked behind his car a few months later by backing up without looking behind him after he had walked out to his car and had to see the Cad. They don't have to be 90 to hit things.

I showed my son the keys to my hotrod a couple of years ago and said "Do you know what these are?" He replied "Those are the keys to your car". I said some day you will have to take these away from me and I hope you will do it. It will not be easy.

I have spent my entire working life in the road, building and maintaining traffic signals. In 38 years I've seen a lot of bad driving and clueless people behind the wheel. I currently work for an affluent mid size city on the West coast maintaining 200+ traffic signals.

The vast majority of poor driving that I witness today is done by young to middle age folks, with young females at the top of the list. I ride up high in a bucket truck all day and see what people are doing besides driving. IMHO, cell phones should be jammed when the ignition is on.
Retesting folks is like letting the horse out of the barn, then trying to catch it. If driving is a privilege, we need to make driving tests much more stringent. Weed out the folks who never should have a license in the first place. There are alot of them out there. I'll take my chances with the "old ****" who learned to drive when rules of the road were important and is doing his best over the tailgating hottie with a smart phone.

just send the money to me and I will keep it and not send a door. the end result will be the same, but at least I will tell you up front I don't really have a door and your money will be going to me and not be going to a thief.

report the guys name to ryan so he can be deleted again.
