anny info on this car?

GEEEEZ- you guys are pickin on Chopit. He built the car himself and his (?) 16 yearold kid wired it. I have heard people say they don`t like the Mona Lisa painting because its to small. Didn`t the car sell for around 300 grand at an auction.

 

It was closer to 400K.

 

Money is a funny thing. To some people it is the measure of all things. Whenever I start to think along those lines, I just remind myself that Michael Jackson sold millions of dollars in records, but that don't mean any of it was any good.

You're pretty opinionated dude. And It sorta feels like you're looking to start ****. I know you're new and can pull the whole "It's just the internet" thing, but it's not. The Hamb is a little different. Most of us here know each other and hang out in real life too.

The car is a bit out there for my taste if I were going to, (or had the skills to) build one myself but there is still something cool about it at every corner.

All of his work is pretty damn good but that 37 International on the site is ***s!
Never been a panel guy myself but that one does it for me.

Personally I think that anyone here that has something bad to say about this guy's work don't know ****.
Well... Maybe they do about Micheal Jackson or something like that, but nothing that would be on here.

 

Dreddy bear and whomever else is willing to listen. Building a custom is a **** shoot, the problem being that is is somewhat artistic. Many will like one and many others will not like the same one. More often than not unless is is a real subtle custom I look at it and say well I like this but they probably shouldn't have done that.

The car that started this thread is a perfect example, all of it is well done as in the craftsmanship is superb, but when I look at it I say to myself well that is a good thing but maybe that shouldn't have been done. No indication that the car is an abortion by any means, just that ther are probably things that I wouldn't think should have been done. I do think the shoulds outweigh the should nots and there probably is little if anything at all that I would chanmge about the car if I owned it.

This car aside for the moment, I do doubt that the selling price is any indication on how well built anything is, we have seen some real **** sell high, there is just no accounting for taste. Someone said that a fool and his mobney are soon parted and if that is true there are probably a lot of things that get sold for more than their actual value.

 

Yeah but at this point I don't think it's about the car. Honestly, theres a bunch of things on it that dont fit my taste.. and I know your taste and respect your opinions because I know who you are. Maybe that new dude is just coming off the wrong way with me.

 

Here's the deal - whether you feel you know me or not is beside the point. I'm not here to impress you or win you over. In fact, there are a lot of hotrodders who by nature couldn't care less what others think. If I wanted to be popular, I'd be staying away from old cars and spending all my time at football games cooking hot dogs for others.

It also makes no difference whether or not I have ever ***embled any vehicle. Why do people always toss up that worn out argument? Can only people who make music judge whether music is good or not? Can only film directors tell you if a movie is good or not? Call me crazy, but I've never needed to taste dog poop to know it's not good.


I'll tell you another thing about car auctions and high end sales - I think a great deal of them have a lot going on that you never know about. Like when Hemi Cudas were trading hands for $1M then $3M then $5M a**** a select group of buddies - and all of a sudden some guy comes in and pays 'market level' of $5M for a car that he'll never find anyone to buy for $3M. I'm never impressed by what anything sells for.

Blah blah blah. That's exactly the answer I expected. You're not telling me anything I don't already know dude, except that in so many words all you are is a critic. Which is fine, but most successful critics are pretty educated in their respective fields. You don't come off that way to me, Which again is fine and as you implicated doesn't mean two ****s from Sunday. All things aside I invite you to use the tools at your disposal here on the hamb to broaden your knowledge of hot rods and customs a bit. Search out posts by Rikster in particular, they're worth it.

Oh just to stay relevent to the conversation (I guess it is not about customs anymore) I have tasted dog poop and it can be quite tasty with enough salsa and depending on what they have been eating. A bit of advice stay away from sled dawg poop it is just a little fishy.

 

I'm gonna try and hitch a ride in one of the A/C vehicles, my coupe sadly will not be ready (Hopefully it will for the Revolution though). We'll have to have a couple pints

However it would be undrivable in Texas any time the sun is shining. It needs a roof that provides shade in order to be useable
