Thanks Bill! Great pics! Hope you had a safe and easy trip home? Love your new truck, that's a sweet ride!
Thanks for the coverage . I thought the white shoe was pretty *****in' too -I got some pics of it at the Biglerville show earlier this year (and the black one too - also cool) .
"We still had a good time in spite of the heat and rain, didn't we?" WMSRRU is always a good time regardless of the weather. Hi Jerry, I couldn't catch your car parked long enough to get a picture of it Bill
It looks like it really has changed. I started going every year about 1978. We put on the Rod jousting and ***isted Western Md St Rods in the early years. There for a while it was the same cars parked in the same spots for many years. No pics of the the beer truck or the corn roast. I have not been back in many years now. I did not see a car that I recognize from my era. Maybe next year.
Thanks again for the pics Bill. Like you said, I wasn't parked long enough to catch and your pics make up for the ones I can't get because I'm driving...... I can count on people like you to share the fun through the shutter while I'm goofing off. Only pic I even got was this one........ These people were walking along carrying the canopy as an umbrella. Then it cleared up and was beautiful for the awards and auction. I'm really proud to be a part of an event that does so much for the crippled children in the area. And the host club gives so much back to the rodders who join them in this worthy cause. Thanks again Western Maryland Street Rodders!
tommy, You can always "come home again!" If anything,we're about friendships and after 40 years,a family situation. Some of the same cars in the same spot every year is a hopeful indicator of continuity and the ideal of enjoying something and repeating the fun? This was my 30th year as a WMSRA member and 32 year at the show. Many of the "old guard" has left this mortal coil and I guess we're the "old guys" now? The corn was great and the beer cold.We saw many smiles a****st the raindrops and Sir Woosh,Pa-Comet and I got soaked while we helped bigbob55 pack up.Then it quit drizzling when we finished. Four ol friends goofin' in the rain! Gary T and I laughed the whole way thru the poker run! Three HAMB banners were flying,we was all representin'! Clark's registration # was drawn by two little girls for Saturday evening's $1,000 cash prize. His rewards to them and generosity during the awards program...awesome! Hamber's is great people, but you knew that! Come on back,tommy....the water's fine! You're always welcome at the RoundUp!
Thanks for all the "Hamb helpers" on unload and reload for the swap meet....My thanks to Sir Woosh, Ranunculous, PA Comet and nice to meet all who sih\gned the Hamb banner. Clark.....you are a deserving winner on that 50/50. Thanks to all who made the weekend enjoyable...See you all next year at ***berland if not sooner.
More than glad to help Bob.......... Also glad to see you made it home safe to the puter. Was thinking of all of you getting back to base safely. Wife and I were rolling back down the highway just under 80 mph when a trooper came up behind us out of nowhere. Drifted back into the right lane with the normals to see what would happen next, but he booked on by us. Felt good to fly and still get by......lol
Guys.... Wow what a show. Some of the Koolest rides I have seen in years. 1st time out there from Pasadena area with our Black and White Shoebox sleds and I was blown away with the people and well run it was and a great charity!! dogface, I'll see the guy that contacts the bands this Saturday night and will get the scoop and get back to you? Thank you for the kind words towards our show.WMSRA's Street Rod RoundUp has been successful for 40 years due to the partnership of cool participants like you!
If anyone has the old poster from the 70s? with the picture of the games going on I'd sure like to get a copy. My buddy and I are on it. We were watching the toilet game. I don't remember the game but one pardner sat on an old toilet and filled a gl*** of water by pulling a chain as the water fell from an over head tank. That was back in the family era. Obviously the picture was taken the year before. IIRC I saw the poster in Anderson industries show room. I know it's a very long shot but you have to ask. right? I always check show pictures that I attend to see if I'm in the background. This is the only one.
