Any interest in a U fab style manifold for a flathead?

This is all good stuff. And I don't want to derail - but I do want to bring it back around for a bit a let you all know I've talked to the machinist and he's in. I just have to drop off a gasket and manifold (stock). He's also going to drop by the garage and get some measurements straight from the block.

Once he gets me an est. for the base and carb plates I'll focus on tubing so I can establish a price and see if it's worth producing.

Serious question: It sounds like each person who has expressed interest has a little different idea of how this piece should work. Would there be any interest in a kit that contains a properly machined and prepped base plate, two to four carb plates, and recommended tubing dimensions with the sources to obtain it?

Cost would be significantly less this way and you would be free to build a manifold to use anything from a single Stromberg to fourty three lawn mower carbs - no I won't make the carb plates for that.

The reason I mention this is my experience with Spun wheel covers. Well over half of the calls I received were asking for something "just a little different" than what I was selling...and could I make that? The answer was always yes but no one called back after I quoted them the required tooling cost.

Let me know what you all think and we can get back to mulitiple carburetors.

Oh yeah, I got it. THANK YOU. I know you said it's running good pressure but I'm going to go through it anyway. If for no ther reason than to know what is correct with clearances and such so I can rebuild the pump that comes OUT of my motor. Thanks again man. You rule.

  4. Just in time!!! I was shopping for an intake last week, but would really like to do something like this. The kit sounds good. Count me in.

I like the idea of a plate kit that can be built to suit. Including for a blower!
