Damn man, that's some good metal working. I get discouraged every time I look at my rust in those hard to shape areas. Good to see old bondo abuse being rehabilitated. Maybe there's hope for mine yet.

SBC, HF shrinker, ....AND Jamaican beer... haha heads are really gonna roll now lol. Great start and I'm with the its your truck crowd. Yea flatties are cool but their expensive to build and maintain. You already had the 350. And above all its your truck that you plan on driving reliably. Tell the haters to piss off your truck is probably decades closer to driving then theirs or mine for that matter. Good luck with the rest of your build and make sure you please all of us after all we're all watching you now lol. Good work!

Wow! Great work! Gotta ask.. what kind of welder are you using? For the sheet metal patches, are you just doing a lot of spot welds, and jumping from spot to spot to reduce warpage, or are you just doing a quick stitch weld after you spot weld the piece in?

its a little 135 mig. lots of spot welds. then go back and split the difference. take your time. after i get about 100%, i grind just the welds with a small cutoff wheel. i like to put a drop light behind the panel after that to look for pin holes

    brilliant.

Like someone else said, one on the road is worth more than 10 in the garage.

    Haters are gonna hate.

Going to be watching your build. Budget builds are awesome. Shows the imagination of the owner.

i picked up this bed a couple months ago. it was 300 bucks, and local. the bed fenders are in much better shape than the garbage i have to work with. the front panel is in great shape. the tailgate is not bad. now the bad part, the bed rails are trash. the box is better than mine. here we go again.

  30. Looking good, a repro front panel would have cost you at least $200.00. (ask me how I know!).
