Years ago I had a wrecked 53 olds and a 47 pontiac and was wondering the same,I never done any measuring but the frames looked similar and it looked like it would bolt up in the rear and maybe a little tweeking for the front mount.

used to be a popular swap in the 50s.

Engine should go in without any major problems. A friend of mine who has Olds motors in all his hot rods says the Pontiac trans does not bolt on to the Olds motor. I have a 54 Pontiac hydro and a 394 Olds but they are both soooo heavy I have not tried to find out if it works or not.

Hydro is the same, except for less clutches perhaps and that it is a single range hydro (no super or Dr3 position). It will bolt up to Olds, but you will need the Olds hydro bell housing (goes between the engine and hydro case) and lower flywheel cover. Also you will need the Olds hydro flywheel. This is ***uming that the 47 hydro torus cover has the 30 holes to mount to flywheel.

NOPE, Chevy trucks, Hudson Jets, and Nash Ramblers (and possibly Willys Aeros) used an O-ring and had 18 bolt holes. The Chevy truck had a rectangular cut o-ring, the others were square cut.
