    ^^ It's a 351, built up for strong low- and mid-range, running through a 4R30W (electronic AOD) and an 8" with a 3.80 gear.

    Yep.

I think the burnt out old raspberry color would've looked good with the mags though. Of course, I'll always have a soft spot for red oxide.

This car nails the hot rod look! What size wheels are you running?

Jeem, the color is the same.. just changes in the light of day..

as for rims, they are Real Rodders. they are 15x8 with 2" backspace and fronts are 15x5 (narrowest they have)

tires are 6.00x15 bias (still looking for an adequate narrow radial)
rear are 28x9 Hurst Cheaters. I plan to switch over to 275/60/15 or 70 series radials eventually (drag radials) if I can get them to fit (the current rearend is a 8" out of a maverick (56.5 wide) but plan to build a 9" at 56" wide (should be enough to fit the 275).

the conversion to fit the current tires was not that bad, almost all bolt in expect for reworking the inner fenders (on the qtr panel side).

    Nice and clean.

When I was a kid there was a 50 Ford in the neighborhood that must have been a survivor from the '50s race scene. Gray paint, little trim, and and a stance that was born to run.

Just put all the cars from Graffiti here and call it done.

49olds.. I was looking at those but wanted a tire that was slightly taller (like a 175r15 or 185?? but do not think those are made. would like a 26 to 26.5 tall tire but with a 5 inch wide tread.

We're both looking for the same tire. I need the taller tire for the Olds in order to fill up the Front wheel opening which is larger than the Chevy. It's not easy to find a good looking radial for a reasonable price but here's a few that may work for you. A couple of them are very pricey. The redlines are the best deal and you could flip them to the inside. There's always the Hurst Super Cushions 26"x4 1/2 X15 and 26 x 5 1/2 x15 but last I saw they were not cheap either.

49olds thanks for the info, several of those if not all would work probably... let me know what you end up using.. the 6.00x15 I am running are perfect height but I will need to find a radial in the future when I add the MII front end.. I thought the Hurst Super Cushions were bias.. I had thought about buying them originally but the cost changed my mind.. if they are radials, I might have to step up

Bones here's the info from the Hurst website. I believe in the past I've seen where you can get the Super Cushion in either bias or radial but it looks like radial is all that is listed now.

Thank you! The Pontiac is a 1949 Deluxe 5 passenger coupe. I purchased it from the grandson of the original owner. She bought it new and drove it till she was 91 years of age! Engine is 350 SBC, trans is 700R4 and the original '49 rearend. You will find pictures and videos from the day friends and I pulled it from it's 15 year resting place thru the entire build here.
