Hey, I can contribute. I went basically the same way as the OP's link up there. I tacked 1/4 round onto the hood starting on the windshield side, then working my way slowly down to the grille. Then I ground everything as smooth as possible and filled it with filler. Go really really really slowly with the welds, and when it's in place and you're finishing the tack welds up, move around and go even slower. Heat is your enemy. Same thing with the grinder after.
my shoebox has a center depression for trim, should i fill it with 1inch flat stock then the round bar? ill post pictures tomorrow. shoebox guys help with pics please, thats if you have them.
