Customs Are my Stude fenders too fat?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tinbender, Sep 6, 2012.

  1. Decided it was time to put my M series back on the road. Every time I look at it from the front I think the fenders are just too fat. Excuse my very poor attempt at foto chopping, but what do you think?

On that truck, fat is the point!

  6. I think your probably right! Nothing I do is going to make it pretty:D
It's the first time I've had the sheet metal on since the chop. Didn't take much to visually widen the truck. I'm happy with the chop.

Studes never let their self-worth to be dictated by their garage size?
That's the beauty of M5's,with their front-to-rear interchangibility, they mock and ridicule other trucks for their lack of specialty!
In some cases, you might need that extra width for your lock-to-lock turning clearance.
    Your truck is cool!

Fat fenders are a great place to hide the skinny wheels!

Most guys want to widen the fenders and you want to narrow them...wattsamatta with you...??? Stude's seldom win any beauty contests...leave it alone and enjoy being different...PHAT is where it's at...

Sombody needs to build the chopped and sectioned version of the cartoon lookin stude in one of the vendors adds. It makes the fenders look oversized, the tires also look wide and fat in the add.

My truck is a 46 studebaker its running a 383 stroker sbc with a turbo400 trans I installed a Air Ride suspension kit from No Limit on the existing ch***is. I left the body entirely stock with the exception of a set of fibergl*** fenders that will be going on the rear I could not find a good set of steel ones. I plan on posting a build thread in the very near future.
Here are a few more pics that I took this weekend. We also had it running for the first time this past week sounds killer! I am glad to see your chop it was something I was wrestling with on mine but I was not up for all the work maybe it's something I will look at again in the future.
