Who is going to Wavecrest

the wife and I are flying down Thursday morning for the event. First time in many years. This is an effort to get excited about digging into my woodie or making the decision to sell it and move on to something else.

I understand there is a car gathering on Thursday night ?? (anyone know if that is true) and then the main event on Sat and the Sunday morning cruise.

So who is going and what are you driving...(pictures if you have them).

 

Thursday morning I believe is the surfing contest. I will not be there this year other obligations to take care of.

I might stop in for an hour or two before heading out to el mirage. Thursday evening is the monthly Encinitas/101 cruise night. It's on coast hwy from about d street south to h st. Starts around 5 goes till 8

 

Here is the schedule -
Thursday night 5:30-7:30 Rods & Woodies
on 101, downtown Encinitas - Cruise, Friday morning Nor cal vs. So cal surf challenge at San Onofre state beach.
evening welcome gathering at Best Western moonlight inn (host hotel) 760 942-7455
Saturday - Woodie show
Sunday - 8 a.m. Woodies cruise Highway 101

I'm going to try to make it this year.............really.

 

You might check out the Friday Night Cruise in Escondido - they actually drive their cars up and down Grand - not just park and sit in lawn chairs - always a fun and worthwhile evening and several woodies may show up before Wavecrest. Here's a shot from Willys Night a few years ago....

Always a good time at moonlight will be there with the wife and kid. Think I'll do the 101 with my comet wagon.
