My business partner in Texas has 2 cars and a truck with YOM plates, one set good original and the other two sets restored. As long as the plates are in good shape and the original colors you should have no problems.

No charge, no registering in Kentucky for YOM tag. All you have to have is the current state issued tag in the car. If it ends in KY its got to be good.

Here in California, we may be able to get new "vintage" plates from DMV. The state is considering making and allowing new black/yellow and blue/yellow (maybe others) plates. I have been following this proposed legislation all year and it has been met with little or no resistance.

One funny thing is that we will be able to put these "vintage" plates on any year vehicle. So you could put a black/yellow plate on a 2013 Mustang!
