who stole the tool box out of my car last night. I had it laying on the back seat. Windows were up, doors open by pulling the wire by my window. My car doesn't lock but the door handles are shaved and makes a good thief deterant. What confuses me is I had some other stuff in there of more possible value and it was left alone.

I hope you get some good crack for them.

    All my traveling tools
All my specialized bmx bike tools
A few of my dead grandpa's tools I had
A few my dad had made made me
My dump tube covers for my Galaxie
    A lot of sentimental value

I'm more sad than pissed right now. At least they left my screw drivers on my front seat for when I need to byp*** my solenoid.

    *******it

If you are in the Grandview/Columbus area and see some shady ****bag carrying around a plastic yellow tool box witha bunch of old tools in it, shoot him or run him over.

Unfortunately i feel for you, i went to use my tools yesterday and they had vanished. I usually have the trunk locked, but apparently i forgot this last time.
Short of my air tools, almost every hand tool that I owned was in that box. Like you had said, that tool box was sitting on a fairly nice craftsmen jack and some other semi-valuable items that were not taken.
I dont understand the way that these a$$holes think.
I heard about some thieves that were caught in the area with alot of stolen goods, so i filed a report. But who knows?
Sorry about your loss, maybe it helps to know that you are not alone in your frustration.

A good friend had his toolbox taken from the trunk of his car. He's a machinist and had lots expensive and sentimental calipers and whatnot. (Dad's tools.) One of the very few times he didn't have his box inside. Think he was in the middle of a move or something.

Thief was caught on a street corner selling stuff right out of the box. When the Officer quizzed him regarding the micrometers he told him how they were "Really nice plant hooks!"

"See, you just clamp them on your porch here and hang the plant from here." Selling them for something like five bucks each. My friend got most everything back.

  5. Man... I'm sorry to hear it.

Sad when you lose things that can't be replaced. I've been there.

I'll send out some bad mojo for the **** that took it. Not that it'll help, but believing in karma seems a good thing to hold onto in situations like this.
So... let's all get together and put a kingsize hex on this guy.

By tonight he'll have been caught... or squashed by a falling anvil, or something.

I had one of the most confusing tool thefts ever.
I went out of town one weekend and my sister was house sitting. She said she never heard anything.
Now the confusing part is how they could have gotten out of the garage.
They took a 6 foot tall toolbox with a small welder in the bottom of it as well as cleaning out every tool and case that was in the garage. The small walk through door was screwed shut as well as one of the garage doors. The other door was completely blocked by my Chevy that was immobile at the time...no way to move it and only 6 inches or so between the back of the car and the edge of the door. I was impressed and figured whoever took it must have been a super genius and deserved to have the stuff.
I put the HEX on them too...maybe one day I'll here about a smart tool theif being squished by a heavy tool box while trying to steel it?!

Well I filed a police report. I called a local pawn shop and they informed me that all of columbus' pawn shops have some contact with the police dept andif someting is sold there it will be reported. That's my only hope I have.

Karma will get them... I never really believed in that until Saturday night...

I had a guy try to rob me at knifepoint Saturday around midnight, about 3 or 4 blocks from work. I told him to get ****ed, he stepped towards me with the knife, and I put a Glock in his face. He screamed, turned to run away, tripped and fell, landing with his knife in his belly. I left. I was always taught not to run with sharp objects!!

I'll definitely belive in Karma from now on!!!!
Hope you get your tools back too, but they'll get what's coming to them....

  9. sorry to hear about this. let me know what kind of BMX tools you had. i can probably help you out on this. i'm a bike mechanic in indianapolis.

I too lost all my hadtools after exhausting myself spending all day breaking free and rebuilding the front bearings of a 12 years parked project car. I was just too damn tired to bring em in. Never again. God, I still have some things I need to buy when I get the chance...

A friend of mine is a local police officer and someone broke in to his garage and stole his son's four wheeler and all his tools.A month later he does a routine traffic stop and in the back of the guys van sits all his stuff along with a bunch of other peoples things .The guy hadn't unloaded any of it yet !!
He handcuffed the guy and put him in the back seat but some how forgot to strap the seatbelt.:)Wouldn't you know it more than 3 three times a dog run out in front of him on the way back to the station and he had to slam on the brakes!:):)By the time they got there he was ready to be in jail !!

  14. Now there's some really good news...

Criminals ain't all that smart. If they were smart they'd have jobs. I hope you get your stuff back, especially the sentimental ones.

This took place in lovely Downtown Flint Michigan.

When people say they are scared of Detroit, they're actually scared of Flint (about 80-ish miles North of Detroit). We normally have WAY more violent crime per capita than D-town...

All the GMB know that I carry... after all, I own a cash business located in Flint... I'd be dumb not to!

After Saturday, I WON'T leave home without it!
