I went to search, and all the posts are several years old. Last time I had plating done it was Show&Go, but that ship has apparently sunk. Anyone know who is doing this locally these days?
Looking for the same info here. Would like to hear some recommendations.. I found a wheel repair place in Arlington that does plating, I'm going to take a small part to test them out.
That makes three of us. I used to use Show & Go, then the place over by the Stock Yards in Fort Worth. They're both belly up now. I've used Speed & Sport in Houston (yea, not local). REALLY like their work, but end price was a little higher than I liked. How about Gainsville? I keep hearing good things about these folks, but haven't tried them yet. http://northtexasqualitychrome.com/index.html
Pulido's in Balch Springs, Superior Plating In Mesquite(if I remember right). I've heard good and bad about both of em.
About a year ago I had a `60 Impala rear bumper chromed at DC Chrome in Dallas. I think they also are known as Dallas Chrome. They did a real nice job. I will post a link if I find their info.

I think there is a place in Arlington. A guy I went to school with use to work there. I will see if I can find its name.
I miss Lawnview Plating. When we had the digger in the 60's/70's, they were one of our sponsors. Was one of the go to places for chrome. Anyone tried the powder coating that looks like chrome? How close is it?
Al's and ***ociate in Fort Worth I personally have not used them but I have friend that runs a lot of stuff from his shop through here. My Dad did plating for 30 years and visited this shop and told me he liked their setup and work. I second the shop near stockyards closed (superior??) the older gentleman that owned/ran p***ed away. I think the Fort Worth shop was Advanced Chrome Connection. There is a big plating shop called Superior Chrome but they're out of Houston. They show up at a lot of the swapmeets. Or at least they used too.
You're correct, I couldn't remember the name. That was a good place to deal with. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
If you are still looking I'd recommend Al's Plating 2829 Bryan Ave. Fort Worth 817-921-2879. They did my grill and bumpers (nerf bars) a couple of years ago and they still look great- I was very satified. I don't know how busy they are now but it did take 4-6 weeks.
