'46 ford Hoode Springs.

    I have a '46 Ford coupe and I need new Hood Springs. can someone tell me the lengh? Or post a picture?

  2. I took the springs right off the hinges and used a Hyde Products hood holder to keep the hood open-saves a ton of alignment issues and the hood stays open when you want it to.

    I don't have any springs. I am trying to establish the right size to look for?

    macsautoparts.com has the correct springs for $4.85 each, part no. 91A-16789

    They also have stainless steel for $10.75 each.

    Sacramento Vintage Ford has them also, I think for $6

    Sometime back one of the mags (think it was Street Rodder) had an article on how to use gas struts for hood springs. Good article and looked like it would work very well.

    How do you find it for opening /closing is it that much better for the alignment without the springs?
