heres a shot of what i got done this weekend worked on stripping the cab down to metal. welded up all the holes on the firewall and patched the front lower cowl panel. it was my first try at installing a patch panel, it didnt come out too bad. I will get lots of practice on this cab! all 4 corners and rockers need replacing you gotta love the south! Ryan
ho-leee ****! not many people doin' hard lines to their air bags. great work! i'm actually impressed... tred.
That frame is sweet!. Somptin new, a Ford with a Ford engine? COOL! Had my 51 F-1 for about 35 years.................OLDBEET
Cool truck. What kind of front suspension is that? What frame is that? Cool to see a ford in a ford too.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. I havent had a lot of time to work on it lately we are expecting our first child in a few more weeks yeah i've built a few minitrucks in my day, i am also a member of //NEGATIVE CAMBER\\ the s10 is a 4 door blazer that belongs to my buddy, its channeled 4 inches and lays rocker on 20" wheels 51, the frame is the stock frame that has been boxed, and a mustang II crossmember with 2" drop spindles and I fabricated some bag mounts out back is a pete and jakes triagulated 4 link and I notched the rear
lodaddyo *****'n build.. Can you tell me more about your rear suspension? I was looking to do this as well, expect run the lower bars forward. How is your pinion angle change thru full travel? Thanks
thanks alot, the rear is a pete and jake 4 link, i set the pinion angle at ride height 2 degrees upward, when the airbags are fully extended the pinion angle gets kind of weird but i need to adjust the top bars a little. the frame is step notched and the bag mounts are on the outside the frame,on top on the rear axle, you could get more lift if you mounted the bags on the fourlink, but it gets plenty enough lift for me
Well I was making really good progress for a while and I am stuck on the body work now. Not trying to make it perfect right now, but you get started on something and just hate to quit without it being the way you like it. Anyway it is also so dam hot right now it is hard to get motivated to sand at times. I got a lot done last night actually. I hope to have mine driving before the day of the drags in Oct. Actually I hope to have it driving by mid to late sept, but we will see. Need to finish the body work and get some type of paint on it, plumb, wire, drivetrain, ****on it up. I am really not far off. Yours is really nice, mine will not hold a candle to it probably, but I will be working on it as I go along. Here is a fairly recent pick of it.
Yea I am running a FE motor in mine. (390 bored over) Wanted a tri-power, but that will have to wait until I have the funds. So I just have an aluminum 4 bbl for now on it. I wanted something that might surprise someone though when they look under the hood. Someone had already pulled the flathead out when I bought it. I can somewhat see why people don't go with these FE motors as much any more though. It has cost me for everything on it, but it will be worth it when it is all said and done.
I also run an F E engine in mine. Factory tri-power, been that way for over 30 years. Chopped it 35 years ago, the F-1s were not popular at the time, but all I could afford..On a good day it will still run low 13s.........OLDBEET
looks good.... how is the back suspension set up? is that a 4 link? i see the tri. links but not the bottom ones. or are you running it as a 2 link set up? very nice.
