deuceflathead, your avatar says Sharpsburg. If that's Sharpsburg,GA we're only about 25 miles apart, so don't hesitate to ask if you need my help on this.
I don't have the experience with flatheads that Bruce has, but I did build my first one about 59 years ago. Just got away from them by the 60's!
I may be able to put you in touch with a guy who still builds a few flatheads and understands things that this machinist apparently doesn't.
So if Sharpsburg is in GA, PM me.

Egge pistons have the "wrong" dome.
Just machine the top a little and you are fine with Edelbrock,Offy;Navarro etc. heads

I run Egge pistons, offy "400" heads, and Merc 4" crank. No head machining needed in my case. All the flathead rods are the same length, 7" Double check which pistons you have.....

I agree with what Bruce said.......There is no such thing as a part being made wrong once the job is finished.....thats all part of being a custom builder...YOU CHECK these things and machine them correctly or aquire the correct part to use....BEFORE the job is finished.

And I dont care if the cust or the shop bought the parts...If a customer where to bring something incorrect....you dont just use it because its there

That would be like ***embling a sbc engine without proper valve to piston ,and saying the bend valves you now have are the piston companys fault.....is it up to the manufacture to know what cam your using?Should you buy new heads and try again?

    Theres my 2 cents,
    Tony
