I am new to this. I am picking up a 1953 Chevy 150. It has a few modifications. I will put some pics on here when I get them. All I know of right now is it has a 283 small block that runs a little rich. I definately need help at this. What kind of rear axles did these come with? Are they okay for normal use? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
If it has a 283, I'll bet a dollar it isn't the stock rear axle. Popular swaps are 1955-57 or s10 4x4. Some also use a 70s f-body. If you put discs up front, you have to upgrade the master cylinder. I put discs on the stock suspension and also swapped in a jaguar front end. I have used the 1955 and the s10 4x4 rear axle. Posies springs are great.
