What is wrong with that? Would you expect a stranger to go through this effort as a favor to you. His time and effort is worth compensation. I hope your offer is acted upon. Good Luck and thanks for the heads up.
Google Maps is your friend: 801 Feather River Bvld. , Oroville, CA 95965 Looks like SanFran, Oakland or Sacremento are the closest major cities.
Seems to be a bit north of Sacramento by 50+ miles. Need to know the buyer pays a 13% fee to the auction. The XKE and Healy got my attention. Hmmm
Not a thing. What caused the cognitive dissonance was the-- "my goal here is to make sure these cars do NOT get crushed and to help out fellow HAMBers in the process" misdirection. Why paint it like you're "help[ing] out fellow HAMBers" when you're actually offering you time for a fee. Because "help[ing] out fellow HAMBers" happens a LOT on this board, and no fees are involved-- moving cars, helping roadside breakdowns, hunting down stolen cars, shipping FREE parts, and so on. That's a different motivation than getting paid. Nothing wrong with either, but let's all just be above board with one another and describe it like it is. Heck, I ma call on the guy to see if I can hire him to handle a bid. /2 cents (but offered for free... just trying to help out fellow HAMBers )
Oroville: Tweakerville and Welfare row! ccpanel aka chris seems cool enough to me and $200 to remove and store a vehicle for 60 days is really fair.
Why does everything have to become a drama on here. Its one of the major reasons I so rarely post here any more. The OP is pretty easy to read to me, seeme like a member has posted this so all can see, has clearly stated he isnt involved in the actual sale process and is offering what would seem to be a very affordable way for people to have the cars collected and stored whilst purchasers sort out frieght. Thanks CCpanel.
You'd be hard pressed to get a tow truck to haul a car the 60 miles for $200, let alone store it. The last time I had one towed was like 15 years ago and it cost me $75 to get 13 miles. I sure doubt it's any cheaper, especially in California.
Good on you ccpanel, a good generous offer and well worth being compensated for, for your time and effort. If you help save some cars and make some money it's a win win as far as I am concerned. Nice work
Thanks for offering .... #2 diesel is $4.11 a gallon on average nationwide In Northern California - closer to $4.50 a gallon or more Storage ? Priceless .... Nice of you to step up and try to help HAMBers and old rides Five Stars Jim
