Hi all Just joined up and I'm new to the hotrod world. My brother in law is a bad influence. He's building a '31 Ford roadster, which is very good. When working in the north of Western Australia, I came across a '35 Hudson six. I'm in the process of retrieving it, and will install a Chrysler 318/904 that I have already. It's in 'good' condition. Surface rust only. The chassis rails, floor, hood, doors are solid. A Hudson is quite a departure from the Ford/Chevy/Dodge stuff, but its relative uniqueness makes it appealing. The down side is getting parts, but luckily most of it is there. I just ebayed an original dash cluster, so that is a good start to a fairly stock interior. I'll keep an eye on posts and threads for advice and info- listen and learn!! The car will be a driver, NOT a trailer queen. There are too many of those around. Attached is a picture that gives you some idea of what is ahead of me....... regards Greg
Greetings Greg and welcome from the west coast of Florida. I think you have your work cut out for you with restoring the car in the photo. This can also be a project that is a great deal of fun and it you simple take your time and have fun along the way. I always hate to see guys start any project with a completion date in mind right from the start because it simply puts to much pressure on you. Enjoy the build and have fun and a few beers along the way and take plenty of pictures so that the rest of us can enjoy the build along with you. Best Regards. Jimbo
Thanks Jimbo. I think we are as distant across the planet as we could be. The car is not as bad as it looks....but beer is a great pacifier for the long road. There is not a time line, but sooner rather than later is my approach. regards Greg
