Need Some Advice

I've got a 1935 Dodge Brothers pickup, slant 6 with 2 carbs, auto trans, 8" Mustang rearend. Built as a "hi-boy", dropped axle, disc brakes, cross-steering. Truck runs and drives great, handles like a dream and gets good mileage. Been driving it for 3 years.
Would like to build a new project, but my wife (understandably) says work on the Dodge and be happy.
What should I do to the Dodge?

I'd keep driving it and grinning. But, if it were mine, I'd get rid of the side pipe exhaust, change the tires to big-n-littles, and do something with the radiator to lean it back a bit to flow with the body line, maybe put a hood top on it. Maybe change the color/all one color. Not much else.

Interior is all done?

Women get confused real easy. Sneak out and buy another old clunker and start a new project. Use the Dodge to haul parts and take your wife out wining and dinin now and then. She'll get over it------------ someday!

I like the truck but...
Drop the radiator and lean it back so the top of the shell is at least level with the cowl top. X2 on the bigs and littles and running your exhaust under the chassis.
Put some shiny paint on it do something with that bed, it just looks awkward (maybe it is the camera angle) but check it out.
With just a few weekends work you can have a snappy little car that catches the eye.

I agree with some of the other posters. Lean the radiator, do something with the bed...maybe some fenders might help the bed? Unify the color on it...I know satin black is overdone, but I've been doing it as a sort of "chalkboard" to help me see what I really want. This is probably dumb to say, but I wonder how it would look with Model A frame horns and front styled suspension? Just tossing it out there. If any of that or even none of it is done, you've got a great truck!!!

I think tucking the exhaust under it and painting the bed to match the cab would make a positive change. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the response and good suggestions.

The cab and radiator are both in the stock location. Note that the radiator support rods run downhill to the firewall, and the cowl slopes to the firewall. Since this picture I put the hood hinge rod in place so the eye has a level line from the top of the cowl to the grill shell.

My wife of 45 years has put up with a lot, and this year she got her first new car, a convertible! She is thrilled to actually have 1 side of the garage to park in. As I just turned 69, she feels it's time to slow down and maybe even develop some other interests, like gardening - NOT!
